From Leonardo to the Futurism…

Many artistic styles influenced the historical heritage of Milan over the centuries. Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Futurism are among the most important and still visible in the city architecture and art.
The cathedral (Duomo), located in the heart of the city, is a perfect and magnificent example of gothic style.
The Renaissance was a very intensive period in the city. Leonardo da Vinci and Bramante, two of the most famous and skilled artists of that time, lived in Milan for a period of their lives. The last supper, the famous fresco by Leonardo is located in the beautiful church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, Also the Futurism was a very stimulating period in the history of art in Milan. Thanks to this movement, at the beginning of 1900 Milan was the center of a new tendency of art and culture, attracting many artists, intellectuals and writers with their ideas and works.
